UPDATE: Angry parents target Dinuphozo Primary

Despite claims that the principal had been suspended, she returned to the school last week.

More than 50 Nkobongo residents returned to Dinuphozo Primary school this morning where they are currently protesting, once again demanding the removal of the school principal.

Parents of children who attend the school set ablaze a shack on the school property, after the school was reopened yesterday, following protest action last week.

On Friday about 70 parents protested outside the Shakaskraal school from 4am, burning tyres and barricading the road claiming that the principal, Prudence Vilakazi was corrupt.

According to them, she was suspended last Monday until an investigation into the allegations can be completed.

Protesters burnt a shack on the school property this morning.

However, the principal, who has been at the school since it opened in 2010, returned last Tuesday.

After the school was reopened yesterday (Monday), two men from Nkobongo were reportedly hired to guard the premises.

A woman who was visiting the school claimed she was assaulted by one of the guards.

She reportedly opened a case of assault at Umhlali SAPS, however this is still to be confirmed.
