An elderly woman was killed after she was run over by a car while crossing the N2 between Umhlali and Shaka’s Rock last night.
According to IPSS Medical Rescue’s Paul Herbst, the tragedy resulted in a three-car pile-up leaving the Southbound lane closed for about 45 minutes.

“The driver who ran over the pedestrian came to a stop.
“The car travelling behind him rear-ended him and a third vehicle drove into the second.
“One of the passengers sustained moderate injuries and has been taken to the hospital.”
