Staff were shocked when they arrived to work and saw smoke pluming out of Taurus Packaging Pty Ltd in Green Street, Isithebe Industrial Park this morning.

According to Steve Fox from Mandeni Business Against Crime, the fire broke out inside the office block of the factory shortly after 6am.
“The cause of the fire is not yet known, but it does not seem to be arson,” said Fox.
He said the fire did not go into the production side of the factory and was controlled by Ithaca Fire Department and Rural Metro.
IPSS Medical Rescue’s Paul Herbst said there were no injuries and that the extent of the damage to the factory is not yet known.
