Water, water everywhere – but not a drop to drink in Mandeni ward three
Mandeni residents have had dry taps for two days now.
In a statement earlier this afternoon, Ilembe District mayor Siduduzo Gumede officially apologised to residents of ward three in Mandeni for a water interruption that has been going on for more than two days.
Since Saturday, June 23, residents in the ward have been high and dry.

Ilembe municipal spokesperson Zee Nqala said the interruption was due to a burst pipe which drained the Mpunzi Reservoir.
“Although the pipe has been repaired, water is struggling to reach the Mpunzi reservoir,” Nqala said.
“A technical team is currently on site and checking air valves and scouring valves as the problem is a result of the airlock.”
She said the municipality had been supplying water via water tankers since Saturday evening.
The following roads are affected: top of Impunzi, top of Partry’s, top of Kudu, Springbok, Duiker, Inyathi, Dube and Thekwane Crescent.
