Holidaymaker airlifted to hospital following Thompson’s Bay fall

The man fractured his leg on the south side of the beach.

While enjoying an excursion around Thompson’s Bay on Tuesday afternoon, a holidaymaker suffered a horrible fall on the rocks just south of the hole in the wall.

KDM lifeguards attended to the man who had fractured his leg, and paramedics were called in for assistance.

“Due to the patient location and access limitations, paramedics mobilised the Blackeagle IPSS aeromedical helicopter,” said IPSS Medical Rescue’s Paul Herbst.

“The patient was stabilised and airlifted to hospital.”
