Santa Shoebox Project making Dolphin Coast hearts merry and bright
This was the biggest haul of presents they had received from the community in the six years the Ballito branch has been running.
For 12 years the Santa Shoebox Project has been collecting Christmas season gifts for vulnerable children in orphanages, children’s homes and care centres across the South Africa.
This year, the local branch delivered a whopping 1853 shoeboxes filled with goodies to children across the Dolphin Coast.
“It is really amazing to see the people of the North Coast come together like this,” said coordinator Natalie Smith.
“What makes our project so special is that you are not making a donation to an organisation – you literally visit our website and choose the individual child you would like to donate to.

“These gifts are personal and intentional, and I always tell the children ‘this gift was picked for you specifically’.”
Smith said this was the biggest haul of presents they had received from the community in the six years the Ballito branch has been running.
