Clean bill of financial health for Enterprise iLembe
"Enterprise iLembe has always and will continue to ensure good governance and adherence to the legislation and policies that govern the agency."
For the fifth year in a row, Enterprise iLembe has received a clean audit from the South African auditor general (AG).
AG office manager Hlengiwe Chewa handed the clean audit report for the 2017/2018 financial year to the board in December last year and to Ilembe council last week.
During the audit, the AG inspected the financial management, compliance with legislation and performance of the agency which is mandated to drive economic development and promote trade and investment in the district.

They found that Enterprise iLembe had produced annual financial statements that fairly presented the financial position of the entity.
Enterprise iLembe CEO Nathi Nkomzwayo was pleased with the audit report.
“Enterprise iLembe has always and will continue to ensure good governance and adherence to the legislation and policies that govern the agency.
“This clean audit helps to also ensure shareholder and funder confidence in the agency and the work that we do,” said Nkomzwayo.
Board chairperson Khanyisani Shandu congratulated the board, management and staff on this achievement.
“I wish to sincerely thank and express my appreciation to the shareholder, Ilembe district municipality led by his worship mayor Sduduzo Gumede for their continued guidance and support,” said Shandu.
