Dozens of new recruits for Ilembe cluster

Thousands of people applied for 64 vacancies.

A staggering 10 000 young people applied for 64 vacancies recently advertised by the SA Police Services for Ilembe region.

The lucky 64 applicants left on Sunday for training in Cape Town and, if they pass their examinations, will be ready for duty by the end of the year.

KwaDukuza police station commander brigadier Sbongile Mhlongo said these police officers will be distributed among the ten police stations in the Ilembe cluster.

“There were about 10 000 applicants and you were chosen to go for training, so make use of this opportunity and know that your community is waiting for you to return and protect them.

“I must warn you that this job requires maximum discipline and please ensure that you go there and make us proud. We will be waiting for you,” Mhlongo told the recruits.
