Ballito’s Andy Horton takes the reins at iLembe Chamber
Horton takes over the reins from outgoing president Xolani Gumede, who will continue his involvement with organised business and as a board member.
Well known lawyer and former Dolphin Coast mayor Andy Horton is the new president of the iLembe Chamber of Commerce for Industry and Tourism.
Horton takes over the reins from outgoing president Xolani Gumede, who will continue his involvement with organised business and as a board member.
Horton, a qualified lawyer and a legal consultant with LC Smith Incorporated, has been active in local government for the past 32 years, serving as deputy mayor and mayor of the former Dolphin Coast municipality and more recently as legal advisor to the iLembe District Municipality.
Lesa Bradshaw, managing member of Bradshaw Le Roux Consulting, was elected vice president.
She holds an MBA, an honours degree in psychology, a diploma in human resources management and is also a qualified psychometrist.

“My professional focus has always involved developing and linking talent from diverse, marginalised backgrounds to business, which necessitates the same innovative thinking to solve seemingly overwhelming obstacles.
“I hope to bring this practical, creative, and solutions-based approach to chamber members through its skills development, entrepreneurial and labour related support services,” said Bradshaw.
By combining her professional experience with her journey as a person with a disability, Bradshaw has contributed to establishing Bradshaw LeRoux Consulting as a leading specialist in creating inclusive disability cultures. She is a seasoned speaker on the issue of disability inclusivity. She received the the 2018 BWA Regional Business Award and the Umyezani Disabled Entrepreneur of the Year award.
Bradshaw said one of her objectives was to “create more opportunities for the (region’s) business community to become more active in working towards the common goal of prosperity for all”.
Dominic Collett retains the position of treasurer. Collett, of Royal Haskoning DHV, has been a member of the iLembe Chamber board since its inception.
Members of the board committees are:
- Finance Committee: Andy Horton – President; Dominic Collett – Treasurer; Cobus Oelofse – CEO.
- Ethics Committee: Hlalelo Makwabe, Shain Manjoo.
- Remuneration Committee: Lesa Bradshaw, Nhlangano Sokhela.
- iLembe Chamber Board Representative on the Board of the Isithebe Business Cluster: Trevor Graham.
