Ballito’s braai master tackles the big 100
Founder of the SA Braai Army, Eugene Zietsman, successfully accomplished 100 days of braaing and golfing on the North Coast.
A round of golf at one of Ballito’s finest golf estates, followed by a braai under the stars with your family and friends.
Sounds great, right? Now imagine doing that 100 days in a row.
That is exactly what local braai master and founder of the SA Braai Army, Eugene Zietsman, successfully accomplished last week.
The braaing and golfing fundi ticked off over three months of daily golf and braais, rain or shine.
Each day started off by heading down to Simbithi Country Club for a round of golf, then a braai at home or out with friends with a variety of options on the menu – from ostrich steak and boerewors to butternut medallions, pizza and even oysters.

Zietsman even started experimenting with home made marinades.
The man behind last year’s Guinness World Record Breaking braai at Sugar Rush Park, said the reason for embarking on this crazy venture was simple – he really loves to braai!

“It was an awesome opportunity to do what I love, while bonding with my family. The best part was always having dinner sorted during loadshedding!” said Zietsman.
Not shy to take on just about anything braai related, Zietsman is already planning his next exciting challenge.
