Thuli named Hirsch’s Ballito domestic worker of the month
The monthly winners each receive a Hirsch's voucher and a certificate.
Thulisile Mangesi is living proof that anyone can be inspirational, no matter their title or level of education.
The recent monthly domestic workers of the month competition was won by Thulisile at the Hirsch’s Ballito branch.
Hirsch’s has been running the competition for several years now, where employers nominate their domestic workers for the title.
The monthly winners each receive a Hirsch’s voucher and a certificate.

Thulisile was nominated by her employer Magda Du Plooy who creatively broke down Mangesi’s name.
“Tuli stands for T – Trustworthy , U – Understanding, L – Loving and I – Incredible and Inspiring.”
She said Thulisile had worked for their family for over 10 years and they could not imagine their lives without her.
“During this time our family has changed a lot, our two daughters have both gotten married, the first two grandchildren have arrived and the next two are on the way. Thuli has supported us through all these changes and adapted her role within the household accordingly. She loves the grandkids as if they are her own and looks after them on regular occasions.
“When they arrived she was one of the first to visit at the hospital and refused to give anyone else a turn to hold ‘her babies’,” said Plooy.

Plooy said she does not know what they did before her, nor what they will do if she decided to leave them one day.
The course consisted of a talk by Chantal Kemp, owner of HR Worx who gave an inspiring talk on upskilling followed by a lesson on cleaning and maintaining appliances before each lady received a certificate for attending the course.
If you would like to attend the next course or nominate your domestic worker as the domestic worker for the month, contact shane@hirschs.co.za or 032-9467400.
