Ballito boy wins Orphan Fund’s surfboard raffle

Ryan cannot wait to begin surfing lessons.

The North Coast Courier Orphan Fund raffle prize of a brand new surfboard valued at R6 500 made by Graham “Gee” Smith was won by Ballito resident Ryan Douglas.

All money raised from the raffle will go to the Orphan Fund, to help those who look after orphans and vulnerable children on the North Coast.

The board was donated by Gee, father to local surfing legend Jordy Smith.

The 44-model surfboard is a high end surfboard focusing on performance and power surfing.

The tickets were for sale at The Courier, Wordsmiths Marketing and Get It Ballito Umhlanga stand at Willard beach during the Ballito Pro.

Visitors who took selfies at our stand also won prizes of green environmentally responsible items such as glass water bottles and reusable coffee mugs.

The surfboard drew plenty of attention on Willard Beach during The Ballito Pro.
