A general feeling of positivity for the region was fostered at Enterprise Ilembe’s business breakfast held at Fairmont Zimbali Resort on Tuesday morning.

Enterprise Ilembe and key partners presented their Trade and Investment Promotion service offerings, whereby they aim to facilitate partnerships between the government and the private sector.

“We want to close the gap between business and government,” said chairperson of the board, Khanyisani Shandu.

CEO of Trade & Investment KZN, Neville Matjie, talked extensively on the need for intensive involvement of the private sector.

Ilembe Chamber of Commerce CEO Cobus Oelofse, Andrzej Kiepiela of the KZN Growth Coalition, Trade & Investment KZN CEO Neville Matjie and CEO of Enteprise Ilembe Nathi Nkomzwayo made up the panel discussion on growing an inclusive sustainable economy.

The panel accepted questions from the room and discussed matters such as business confidence, and recent instability in areas like Isithebe.

Enterprise iLembe CEO, Nathi Nkomzwayo, said he was pleased with the turnout.

He said the positive response showed a willingness from business to work with government in finding solutions to challenges facing the economy.

 

“Enterprise iLembe will continue to promote engagements and dialogue in the local economic space by partnering with all spheres of government as well as the private business sector to support local trade and small businesses, to create and sustain employment, to attract investment and to develop strategic partnerships,” Nkomzwayo.
