Delish Sisters launch their first cookbook
"We did a massive harvest table laden with dishes from our cookbook so people could try a sample," said Rebecca. "We sold 120 books in about an hour and 15 minutes! We were on a little cloud for most of last week."
Rebecca and Kate Lund are no ordinary sisters – together they have built somewhat of a foodie empire, and it all came together when their fabulous first cookbook was published last month.
Delish Sisters: Tasty Food Made with Love has been about two years in the making.
“It was amazing to see how it all eventually comes together,” said Rebecca.
The sisters, who run a successful catering business in Ballito, are thrilled with the final product and overwhelmed by the response they have received.
They launched the cookbook at Alchemy at the Lifestyle Centre on Tuesday September 10.
“We did a massive harvest table laden with dishes from our cookbook so people could try a sample,” said Rebecca. “We sold 120 books in about an hour and 15 minutes! We were on a little cloud for most of last week.”
Fans have also been tagging the sisters on Instagram when they recreate a dish from the cookbook.
“That is the most rewarding thing ever,” the sisters said.
Similar to the style of their cafe at The Litchi Orchard, the sisters delight in creating lavish harvest tables.

“We fill tables with salads and a couple of hot dishes, a mix of everything,” said Kate.
“In the book, each chapter is a harvest table, there is a brunch harvest table, a seafood harvest table, a curry harvest table, a picnic-inspired one.”
Originally from Zululand, the Lunds have lived in Ballito for the past six years.
“We wanted to create a cookbook that can also double up as a coffee table book, but also something that shows a bit of the North Coast beauty,” said Rebecca.
“We love where we live and the natural beauty that we are surrounded by. We tried to capture that as much as we could.”
The recipes are predominantly healthy, gluten-free and refined sugar-free, though there are one or two indulgences like chocolate brownies and cheesecakes.
It is obvious that Rebecca and Kate love working together.
“It is easy, and I know that she has the best intentions for me,” said Kate. “I want the best for her and she wants the best for me.”
Future plans include another cookbook, and maybe even a TV show – watch this space.
The cookbook sells for approximately R300 and is available at Exclusive Books, Bargain Books, Takealot.com and Loot.co.za.
