Queen Zama, as she is affectionately known, has become the local poster girl for women's rights, leading the charge in a number of Saps and personal initiatives.

Beautiful Sundumbili police officer, constable Zamashobane Ntshalintshali, is setting her sights on the Mrs Africa title in November.

The pastor, motivational speaker, life coach, ballroom and Latin American dancer and model is ‘armed and dangerous’ when it comes to women’s rights.

A victim of domestic abuse herself, Zamashobane wants women to know they can walk away from abusive relationships.

She was married for nine years and it was a vacation in hell for her.

“Being a mother of three girls it was not easy to leave the relationship, but it was the best thing for me and them.”

She now manages the Victim Friendly Centre at Sundumbili Saps where she works with survivors of domestic violence.

Queen Zama, as she is affectionately known, has become the local poster girl for women’s rights, leading the charge in a number of Saps and personal initiatives.

In 2015 she started the Queen Zama Foundation which helps the poor, working with a number of local charities and runs a drug awareness programme for school children amoung other things.

She also runs a mentorship programme for high school girls in grades 11 and 12 with the help of other women from the health department and Saps.

“The programme works holistically with young women to unlock their potential, nurturing space to grow their self-belief, heal past traumas and become role models.”
