Eskom remains unable to lift loadshedding

Colder weather has increased the country's demand for electricity.

Stage 2 loadshedding continues across the country today despite the return of a generation unit at both the Majuba and Lethabo power stations yesterday.

Unit 2 of the Koeberg power station, which had been on cold reserve since April 2020, was also synchronised into the grid to help relieve the pressure on the generation system.

Eskom said they were working around the clock to return to resolve the power capacity problem.

Colder weather has increased the country’s demand for electricity.

Loadshedding stopped at 11pm last night and will resume at 9am this morning, continuing until 11pm.

KwaDukuza Northern Grid (Tinley Manor to Zinkwazi): No loadshedding

KwaDukuza Southern Grid (Tinley Manor to Zimbali): No loadshedding

Tongaat CBD: 2pm – 4pm

Belvedere: 2pm – 4pm
