Loadshedding stage 2 continues today

Rolling blackouts are expected to continue for the rest of the week.

Eskom will continue loadshedding stage 2 today nationally, from 8am until 10pm tonight.

This is due to the continuing pressure on the national grid caused by 10 unit breakdowns.

“There is a high probability that additional stages of loadshedding may be implemented at short notice,” said the Eskom media desk.

A generator each broke down at Arnot, Medupi, Lethabo, Matla power stations, while two units each at Majuba, Camden and Tutuka power stations also broke down.

Breakdowns amount to 11 425MW of capacity, adding to the 4 983MW currently out on planned maintenance.

Please use electricity sparingly.

Loadshedding times:

KwaDukuza Southern Grid (Tinley Manor to Ballito & Zimbali): No loadshedding

KwaDukuza Northern Grid (Tinley Manor to Zinkwazi): 8pm – 10pm

Tongaat CBD: 8am – 10am

Tongaat Beach: 8pm – 10pm

Mandini (16): No Loadshedding
