Balwin Properties unveils plans for new lifestyle centre at new Ballito estate

The centre will include a restaurant, gym, squash court, luxury spa and a host of other amenities that are for exclusive use of residents and their guests.

Development at the Ballito Hills Estate is moving swiftly along as Balwin Properties unveiled the plans for their new lifestyle centre last week.

Six of the estate’s 21 development phases have been completed as of this week, with the new centre due to be opened in December.

Ryno Van Den Berg (Site Manager – Balwin Properties Ltd), Michelle Blackburn (Property Executive – Balwin Properties Ltd), Ivan Van Zyl (Contracts Manager – Balwin Properties Ltd), Lungisani Mzila (Safety Officer – Zero Harm), Dewald Prins (MLE Electrical), Juan Booyse (Endemic Developments), Bertie Lottering (Grafeen).

This translates into 336 of the 1320 total apartments that are planned for the estate, which is expected to be completed by 2024.

Units that fall under the first 10 phases are for sale off plan, with the rest going on the market as the phases progress.

The lifestyle centre plans unveiling was marked with a roof wetting and speech from Balwin CEO Steve Brookes for the residents of Ballito Hills.

The name may confuse Ballito residents given its proximity to the shopping centre of the same name, but it is standard across many Balwin Properties developments, said Brookes.

The centre will include a restaurant, gym, squash court, luxury spa and a host of other amenities that are for exclusive use of residents and their guests.

Outside the facilities, the development has focused on maintaining the flora and fauna that was native to the area, said Brookes.

“We have also placed an emphasis on art at the centre, and have commissioned artist Vincent Da Silva to do a series of dolphin sculptures.”

The night was capped off as Balwin Properties staff and members of the building team joined in on the #JerusalemaDanceChallenge.
