Hirsch entrepreneurs workshop hosts CEO of Proudly South Africa

Support your proudly Mzansi businesses and buy local was the collective message shared at the latest virtual Hirsch’s weekly Entrepreneurs workshop.

Held every Friday between 11am and midday, the Entrepreneurs workshop last week featured guest speaker and Ceo of Proudly South Africa, Eustace Mashimbuye.

The workshop is hosted by multi-award winning business women, executive director of the Hirsch’s group, Margaret Hirsch and one of the top 100 business coaches in the world with ActionCoach, Marlene Powell.

In 1998, Eustace shared, former President Nelson Mandela started a campaign aimed at encouraging South Africans to ‘buy local’.

While the campaign may have started off well, various factors including imports from China saw support for the campaign dwindle eventually.

Eustace however shared that a new system has been put in place – one which aims to reward businesses which support local manufacturers and services.

“Invest in local, invest in those around you, it’s game time Mzansi,” said Eustace.

Professional speaker and executive business coach, Harry Welby-Cooke also joined the workshop – he explained that if we all buy local, and also make an effort to find employment for just one person in the EveryONE EmployONE campaign, we could make a massive difference to the unemployment situation in the country.

South Africa’s youth unemployment level is currently at 62%.
