Ballito bands together to raise SNIPR camera funds in record time
The cameras have been a strong addition to the security of the Ballito community at large, with more than 50 cases being cracked with the help of the information gathered.
An unprecedented response from residents and businesses in the Ballito community has allowed Ballito Neighbourhood Watch (BNW) to reach the fundraising target for their SNIPR cameras.
In just under a month, the R37 500 yearly fee to operate the cameras was raised.
“This is no doubt a massive testament to the unwavering trust residents and businesses have in the BNW and the work that we do,” said chairman Morne Steffens.
The cameras have been a strong addition to the security of the Ballito community at large, with more than 50 cases being cracked with the help of the information gathered.
“The BNW committee want to take this opportunity to thank each and every individual resident for their contribution as well as Ballito UIP for a very generous contribution and to the The Work Station and other businesses that came on board. ‘Thanks go to Radio Life & Style 88FM for their monetary contribution as well as allowing as airtime to appeal to our members and of course also The North Coast Courier for yet again partnering with us to get the word out there to the residents of Ballito,” he said.
The BNW continues to improve security measures in Ballito with the neighbourhood watch patrol and painting numbers on houses for easy identification in case of emergency.
Membership of the BNW comes at a cost of R250 per year and access to the BNW reporter app comes as an added benefit.
