Ballito Lions Club induction dinner sees Paul Naidoo inaugurated for 5th term

Good honest community-led charity work was in the spotlight at the Ballito Lions Club’s 38th induction dinner on Saturday.

Besides inducting Selvin Govender, who was tasked to be a project director, Paul Naidoo was inaugurated as president of the club for the 5th time at Umhlali Country Club.

In his acceptance speech, Naidoo spoke of the importance of rolling up your sleeves and serving the needy ones in our communities.

“To serve you must be happy. Helping is not only about signing a cheque for charity, but about rolling up your sleeves and helping those who need it the most. I am back in the hot seat but I must say I love the challenges and being a Lion. It allows me to serve and bring joy and a smile to hungry and disadvantaged communities.”

At the event, the Lions donated walking frames and a wheelchair to senior citizens and a freezer to a hospice in Nkobongo.

Accepting the walking frames and wheel chair for The North Coast Courier Orphan Fund, trustee Rev Ben Ndaba thanked the Lions for coming to the aid of the senior citizens and said it would make a huge difference to their lives.

“Your work is amazing and I cannot thank you enough for what you have done. I must also thank, Mpume Vilakazi from the Orphan Fund for putting us in touch with you. We say thank you,” said Ndaba.
