Protesters stone cars at Seatides, roads closed
Residents from Seatides and La Mercy were unable to get in or out.
UPDATE:
- Genazano Road was reopened 12pm.
- The M4 was reopened at 10.45am.
More than 100 residents from the Seatides informal settlement are protesting, blocking Genazano Road and the M4.
Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) media liaison, Riza Sadack, said residents from Seatides and La Mercy are unable to get in or out due to the roads being blocked.
The reason for the protest is unclear.
“The protesters are stoning cars trying to go past. We advise motorists to avoid the area for now,” said Sadack.
