Andy Horton elected iLembe Chamber president
He has been active in local government for the past 34 years, among others as mayor, deputy mayor, executive committee member and as legal advisor to the iLembe District Municipality.
iLembe Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Tourism bids farewell to outgoing president, Lesa Bradshaw with Andy Horton elected to the position at a recently held board meeting.
Cobus Oelofse, CEO of the iLembe Chamber welcomed the election of Horton, highlighting Horton’s successful career as a lawyer with LC Smith Incorporated in KwaDukuza.
Horton is also a founding board member of the iLembe Chamber.
Meanwhile, having represented Tongaat Hulett on the iLembe Chamber board since 2018, Hlalelo Makwabe was elected as vice president with Dominic Collett retaining the treasurer portfolio.
Hlalelo holds degrees in regional and town planning from the University of Johannesburg and is championing Tongaat Hulett’s land portfolio development in the iLembe District as well as the rapidly growing Sibaya node.
Collett has been a member of the board since its inception. He holds the position of technical director built environment with Zutari, an infrastructure advisory, design and engineering consultancy.
He is also chairperson of the KZN Business Chambers Council and co-convener for business on the KZN Economic Council.
Bradshaw will continue with organised business in the district as a board member of the iLembe Chamber.
