Three vehicle accident in Shaka’s Head claims 1 life and injures 4
A motorbike driver was flung from his bike and declared dead by paramedics.
A motorbike rider has died after being involved in an accident with another car and truck this afternoon.
The unidentified man was flung from his bike, about 30 metres from the site of the collision, into nearby bushes.
At around 5pm, the 3 vehicles were traveling on the R102 passing Shaka’s Head, near Imbonini Business Park.

Although the details of the accident are unknown, damage to the front of the bike and car indicated a possible head on collision.
The truck had minor damages to the back right wheel and fender.
“The motorbike rider sustained fatal injuries while the 4 passengers of the car have moderate to serious injuries.
“They have been stabilised and taken to a nearby hospital,” said Medi Response KZN spokesperson, Paul Herbst.

The truck driver was unharmed.
One lane of the road remains closed and traffic is heavily affected, avoid the road if possible, said Herbst.
Umhlali Saps officers were on scene and will investigate the incident further.
