Flood relief pours in from all quarters

Scores of people are still in need of relief after floods ravaged the North Coast, leaving many without shelter, food and clothing.

Supporters of The North Coast Courier Orphan Fund and director of Condito Agri Services in Salt Rock, James Crichton, partnered with New Germany-based Buzi’s Cash and Carry to donate 400 25kg bags of maize meal, with a second load of equal value to be donated this Friday.

Orphan Fund coordinator, Mpume Vilakazi, has expressed her gratitude to Crichton and Henry Bateman of Buzi’s Cash and Carry for providing meals to many NPOs, families and others in need between Tongaat and Stanger.

“We welcome all kinds of donations, from food to clothing and other essentials. The support shown so far has been absolutely tremendous and we extend our thanks to the everyday heroes who have come to the aid of those most in need,” she said.

Donations can be dropped off at the Courier offices on Ballito Drive.

The KwaDukuza Residents Forum (KDRF) have partnered with Nation Builders Development to bring relief.

• Salt Rock: Tiffany’s Spar and Cannalicious (Steve: 076 891 4011).
• Stanger: Humanitarian Aid Organisation (Amina: 079 158 7559), Rainbow Fruit and Veg (Niven: 073 528 9516) and Stanger Superspar.

KDRF appeals for donations of samp, mealie meal, rice, beans, sugar, 2-minute noodles and toiletries.
