North Coast reverend on a goodwill mission
The semi-retired reverend said he now wants to spend most of his time helping the underprivileged.
Methodist minister, reverend Roy Govender, wants to help those affected by the floods on the North Coast.
The Ballito resident said he had chosen to put his welding skills to good use by helping those who might need them.
“I have my equipment for the job and I am calling on volunteers to join me in lending a helping hand. Donations of steel or wood to rebuild structures for those in informal settlements will also be welcome,” said Govender.
To get his campaign started, he collected a new battery for his generator at Ballito Midas on Monday morning.
“We all have been indirectly or directly affected by the floods. We felt it was important to become involved by helping reverend Govender help those who need it the most,” said Midas manager, Kamil Mahabeer.
