Wedding bus crashes into barrier at Tinley Manor injuring 65
One of the injured passengers was rescued from under the bus using the jaws of life.
A bus laden with wedding guests hit a barrier on the N2 around 3am this morning near Tinley Manor, injuring about 65 people.
“The bus had been traveling from Umzimkulu to Nongoma carrying 78 people, when it collided with a concrete barrier used to divert traffic around the damaged Umhlali River bridge and overturned,” said IPSS Medical Rescue spokesperson Dylan Meyrick.

Meyrick said only 9 were taken to hospital as the remaining passengers arranged alternative transport.
Seven of these were critical and two had serious injuries.
One of the injured was rescued using the jaws of life.
“The patient was trapped under the bus,” said Meyrick.

The accident scene has since been cleared.
