IzOP outreach brings water to struggling Tongaat residents
Five-thousand five-litre bottles of water were collected for distribution.
In response to the critical water shortage in Tongaat, the IzOP-Izinga outreach programme has started a campaign to collect bottled drinking water.
Although launched at short notice, the IzOP team’s commitment and the support of the Izinga community enabled a collection of of 5 000 five-litre bottles of water for distribution.
In partnership with Tongaat civic associations and the Church of Jesus Christ Temple, IzOP visited Pensioners Cottage, Clifton Heights, Flamingo Heights, Belgate, Belvedere and the transit camp to distribute as many bottles as possible.
Recipients expressed their appreciation for the water being delivered to their doorsteps .
