Leading women to speak at Orphan Fund high tea fundraiser

Leading motivational speakers and businesswomen will on May 27 unite to motivate and empower women at The North Coast Courier Orphan Fund high tea fundraiser event, Beautiful Ballito, A Floral Affair.

Orphan Fund coordinator Mpume Vilakazi said the event at Waterberry Coffee Shoppe is one not to be missed, especially with high-powered guest speakers Jess Basson, Kgomotso Ndungane and Lesego Mpyana in the house.

Basson is not just a pastor at Grace Family Church, Ballito, but also an author, life coach and motivational speaker who will share the journey to success, specifically through ADHD.

Ndungane is the founder and CEO of Oak Celebrations and Lelapa, and will talk about how she broke into the business world.

Former teacher Mpyana became curious about the large number of girls being absent from school, and is the founder and managing director of The Red Movement and Move Africa. The Red Movement was established by

Mpyana in the pursuit of fighting absenteeism amongst schoolgirls because of their their menstrual cycles.

“This event is one for women from all walks of life, who are often faced with similar situations the speakers had to confront themselves. They have walked the journey themselves,” said Vilakazi.

Ballito artist Natalie Deeb is painting a floral piece which will be auctioned on the day.

Tickets are R200pp and the starting time 7.30am. Lots of prizes are to be won, including a prize for best dressed.

All proceeds raised will go toward alleviating the plight of North Coast orphans and NPOs supported by The North Coast Courier Orphan Fund.
