Eskom ramps up stage 2 loadshedding

If the frequency of loadshedding is not increased, Eskom said it would run out of diesel stocks before a shipment would arrive on Monday.

To preserve diesel stocks Eskom has ramped up loadshedding stage 2 for the weekend, now set to run from 8am to 10pm.

The state-owned utility would run out of diesel before a shipment would arrive if it continued to supply electricity at the current burn rate.

A ship carrying diesel is expected to arrive on Monday.
