Taxi and sugarcane truck collide at Darnall, killing one and leaving 13 seriously hurt

The 13 injured passengers of the taxi were said to be on their way to work evening shift at Stanger.

Thirteen nightshift workers travelling by taxi to Stanger were left seriously hurt after the taxi collided with a sugarcane truck last night (Wednesday).

The scene of the accident, described as ‘chaotic’, saw one person declared dead while medics fervently worked to treat the injured before they were taken to hospital for further care.

The cause of the accident on the R102 near Darnall is unclear.
