Potential shark threat closes Willard Beach and Clarke Bay

The Sharks Board has warned of potential shark activity after a dead whale washed ashore at Salmon Bay on Tuesday.

Both Clarke Bay and Willard beaches have been temporarily closed because of potential shark activity.

The closure of the beaches by KwaDukuza municipality follows on advice of the KZN Sharks Board, that warned of potential shark activity following the washing ashore of a dead whale calf earlier this week.

It washed ashore at Salmon Bay on Tuesday and was removed from the beach the next day.
