Call for support of Umhlali bus stop ablution revamp

Salt Rock ward councillor Privi Makhan said work will include installing new toilets and basins, including repair work to the roof and drainage improvements.

With the goal of protecting the dignity of commuters, Salt Rock ward councillor Privi Makhan is spearheading a complete revamp of ablution facilities near the Umhlali Village bus stop.

Nine businesses have come on board in support of the project.

New toilets and basins, roof repairs and drainage improvement are included in the scope of work.

“We are not asking for money, but rather time, expertise and materials,” she said, expressing the hope of reaching the R100 000 project target by July 18 in time for Mandela Day.

Anyone interested in helping can contact Makhan at 073 664 1830.
