Used car sales hit R39-billion in third quarter of 2023
Toyota, Volkswagen and Ford continue as the big three in used car sales, with the Ford Ranger's 1 713 sales making it the most popular individual model.
Although used car sales numbers have somewhat cooled, the market remains a substantial force in South Africa.
According to AutoTrader data, the third quarter of 2023 (July-September) contributed more than R39-billion in sales.
This despite a month-to-month decline of 9% between August and September.
When one takes a wider view however, the market is reflecting a 10% year-to-year growth level and remains buoyant in turbulent financial waters.
