Having grown up in Newcastle, she moved to Tongaat in 1994 to seek out a more fulfilling life.

Her book, she says, is “for people who seek to apply love and forgiveness in their lives.”

It comes as a result of a series of personal traumatic events, starting with her being a victim of sexual abuse at the age of 15, and more recently, the loss of her baby.

The book aims to empower people struggling to overcome their past by learning to accept circumstances they are unable to change.

Bishop PP Buthelezi and Jaqueline Mendes.

She said she needed to reconcile with her past and forgive to move forward with her life.

She recounts having cried each time she finished a chapter and describes this as having been both painful and liberating.
