Donate your empty coffee jars to feed 500 people
The Jar of Hope winter feeding programme run by Zimbali Rotary needs residents to donate jars to be filled with dry ingredients such as lentils, soup mix, pasta, soup powder and stock cubes.
At least 500 empty coffee jars are needed to help feed the needy this winter.
The Jar of Hope winter feeding programme run by the Zimbali Rotary Club in support of The North Coast Courier Orphan Fund, needs residents to donate jars to be filled with dry ingredients such as lentils, soup mix, pasta, soup powder and stock cubes.
These ingredients can be prepared with only boiling water to make a warm meal for four people.
Zimbali Rotary Club president Kosh Thaver said the minimum requirement is 500 jars, but they would appreciate more because they intend to reserve some for disaster relief purposes.
The North Coast Courier Orphan Fund co-ordinator Charmaine Premlal expressed her excitement about partnering with the Rotary Club for this year’s food drive, which will be part of their Soups, Socks, and Snuggles Campaign.
“Together, we are doubling our impact and reaching even more people in need. Let’s join forces to make a real difference in our community. Every contribution counts,” said Premlal.
