Popular monthly beach clean-up gets community involved to make positive impact at Zimbali long beach
The well-attended clean-up on Sunday saw dozens of bags of litter collected and properly disposed of.
Armed with gloves, bags and determination, twenty-nine eco-warriors gathered at Zimbali Long Beach on Sunday to fight the tide of pollution.
With ocean currents pushing debris south and recent rains flushing waste from the Tongaat River mouth, the beach bore the brunt.

The monthly clean-up, held on the last Sunday of each month (weather permitting), continues to draw dedicated locals.
Organiser Mike Gahagan thanked both the volunteers and the long-time supporters who keep the initiative going strong.
