Top North Coast businesswomen honoured at annual awards
Ballito’s Saras Govender was crowned this year’s overall winner and also claimed the best corporate woman title.
Ballito’s Saras Govender has been crowned the region’s top businesswoman at a glittering ceremony celebrating female entrepreneurship on the North Coast.
The RE/MAX Dolphin real estate agent scooped the overall title at the Businesswomen of the North Coast awards, held at Simbithi Country Club last Friday. She also won the Best Corporate Woman in Business category.

“I am beyond thrilled,” said Govender. “This award is not just mine, but belongs to everyone who believed in me.”
The awards were organised by Miss North Coast KZN director, Katryn Celliers, to give local businesswomen a platform to shine and grow.

“When women lead in business, they bring diverse perspectives, innovative ideas and resilience – driving economic growth and inspiring others,” said Celliers.
Winners were chosen through a combination of public voting and a panel of judges.
Award winners included:
• Businesswoman of the Year (5+ years in business): Daryl Anne Duncan – DA Duncan and Associates.

• Best Corporate Woman in Business: Saras Govender – RE/MAX Dolphin.
• Entrepreneur of the Year: Nondumiso Mapalala – Nolanga Exquisite Dzigns.

• Small Businesswoman of the Year: Pamela Chetty – Genesis Au Pairs.

• Inspirational Woman of the Year: Adriana Carvalhaes – Morrows Marketing.

• Rising Star Award: Nonhle Ngubane – Fortunate Organisation.

The day also featured the Top Model North Coast 2025 winners announcement, hosted by SA Beauty Modelling Academy, with models showcasing local fashion in a glamorous runway event.
