Over 120 students ready for workplace after Enterprise iLembe training programme graduation
The students were split between training in the food and beverage and IT industries.
Strategic partnerships between Enterprise iLembe and national training bodies have helped 122 students gain vital skills, celebrated at a graduation ceremony last week.
Of the graduates, 89 completed the FoodBev Skills Development Learnership, while 33 participated in the Digital Skills Programme. The FoodBev students earned qualifications in business practice, food handling and management. The digital group were trained in ICT networking, digital literacy and digital transformation.
The 12-month initiative was made possible through partnerships in the food and beverage industry and with the Moses Kotane Research Institute. It was also supported by national youth-focused initiatives, including SA Youth, Harambe Youth Employment Accelerator and the National Youth Development Agency.
Enterprise iLembe board chairperson Nkosenhle Mngadi commended the graduates for their achievements.
“Today is not just a celebration of academic and skills achievement – it is a celebration of hope, empowerment and progress,” he said.
Graduates will now transition into the workplace readiness programme, which provides mentoring and coaching to help them navigate the labour market. The programme focuses on soft skills, professional behaviour and practical workplace knowledge.
“Workplace readiness bridges the gap between training and employment. We are excited to continue supporting our graduates as they transition into the world of work with confidence and capability,” said Mngadi.
