Five dead in three separate crashes on North Coast roads
In one of the accidents, a father and his 8-year-old son died in KwaDukuza.

A devastating weekend on local roads has left at least five people dead and several others injured in three separate accidents.
On Saturday afternoon, a tragic head-on collision on the R102 near the KwaDukuza Saps Station claimed the lives of a father and his eight-year-old son.
According to IPSS Medical Rescue spokesperson Samantha Meyrick, the two died on the scene from severe injuries.
Five other family members, including three children aged between eight and 13, were also injured.
One of them was severely trapped in the wreckage and needed urgent medical attention.
The driver of the second vehicle involved was taken to hospital in a private car before paramedics arrived. His passenger had minor injuries and declined further treatment.
Later that night, a vehicle crashed on the M65 near King Shaka International Airport after going over a barrier and hitting a tree.
Emergency services arrived to find four occupants trapped in the wreckage.
Two people died on the scene, while the other two were seriously injured and taken to the hospital under the care of paramedics.
On Sunday evening, another serious crash occurred on the P415 near Mandeni. A light motor vehicle and a taxi collided, leaving a 39-year-old woman dead.
She was the front-seat passenger in the car and had to be extricated from the wreckage by the Mandeni Fire Department while paramedics attempted to stabilise her.
She was declared dead shortly after being freed.
Six other people suffered injuries ranging from minor to serious and were transported to nearby hospitals.
