A surprise collaboration between Ladysmith Black Mambazo and Jeremy Loops was the highlight of the afternoon

A surprise collaboration between Ladysmith Black Mambazo and Jeremy Loops offered sonic serendipity to a packed Manor House on Sunday.

The two legends of South African music headlined the return of the Marriott Ballito Day and brought an abundance of good vibes to the Sheffield venue. Loops performed as a solo act and the famous choir wowed the 3 500-strong crowd with their stirring renditions, but the true magic came when they joined forces.

The crowd erupted as the traditional harmonies of the choir blended seamlessly with Loops’ modern beats. Goosebumps and grins were everywhere.

Some nasty wind tried to gatecrash Steve Umculo’s earlier performance but the crowd kept the faith and were rewarded with an awesome afternoon.
