Rock and roll charm at Karibu’s ‘Music on the Farm’
The sold out second edition of the event lit up Father’s Day on Sunday.
Karibu Farm rocked to the sounds of Prime Circle during the second edition of ‘Music on the Farm’, a sold-out Father’s Day celebration in Umhlali on Sunday.
Known for its rustic charm and community spirit, Karibu drew large crowds from 10am, with families claiming spots along the scenic dam embankment.

The open-air event delivered a vibrant mix of music, food, nature and family fun. Children enjoyed the dedicated play area, while others made use of the padel courts.
Local three-piece band Sons of Hurricane kicked off proceedings with alternative and punk rock, followed by The Kickstands and their mellow acoustic set.

Headliners Prime Circle took to the stage as the sun set behind the hills, delivering a dynamic performance blending crowd favourites with new material. Their powerful stage presence captivated the audience.
Event organiser Gareth Arnold said the day was both a musical treat and a heartfelt tribute to fathers.

“This is our second ‘Music on the Farm’, and it’s fast becoming a hub for connection, celebration and unforgettable experiences,” he said.
Arnold said the success of the first event in March has sparked interest from big-name artists.

“We are thrilled that national acts now want to perform at Karibu. The community has responded with so much appreciation for a venue that brings people together while celebrating homegrown talent.”
