Spooky Halloween fun raises funds for animal rescue in Ballito

The La Montagne maze of horrors drew more than 1 000 visitors over the weekend.

Grizzly ghouls, murderous monsters and killer clowns descended on Ballito over the weekend for one of KZN’s most hauntingly fun Halloween events.

Sables Animal Rescue hosted its annual Halloween Horrors event, attracting more than 1 000 visitors across Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Seth de Wet (John Wick) and Wesley Faber (Ghost – Simon Riley).

Over the three days, superheroes and villains from around the province gathered at the venue to brave spine-chilling mazes, encounter eerie creatures, enjoy monstrous props and indulge in scarily delicious food, games and fun for all ages.

Event volunteer Kirsty Prepok Lowry said the weekend was a great success.

The Jokers: Cassie Koorbanally, Tyrish and Nisha Jagadasan with Krisha, Ashmika, Ayush and Diyaksha Bhagarette.

All proceeds went toward Sables Animal Rescue’s sterilisation programme in Ballito, as well as supporting partnering local rescue organisations.

The Ballito Badies: Lodewyk Vogel, Ingrid Hartmann, Minieke de Bruyn, Tammany Reddy and Praneet Sookrat.

“This event embodies Sables Animal Rescue’s mission to create lasting change for animals. The continued support from the community ensures that their vital work can go on, one sterilisation and one rescue at a time,” said Prepok Lowry.
