Puppy yoga and dog walk raise funds for animal rescue

Proceeds from the popular event will go to SAFE Foster Network.

It was tails up and leashes out on Sunday morning as nearly 100 dog lovers and their four-legged best friends gathered at Sugar Rush Park for the Tails and trails day, a charity walk supporting the SAFE Foster Network.

Hosted by Gym Dog Activewear, the event was all in aid of rescuing and rehoming abandoned animals.

The morning began at 6am with a gentle puppy yoga session, where early risers stretched beside playful pups. Spirits were high as the crowd later split for a 5km walk at 8.30am and a more relaxed 2km stroll at 9am.

All proceeds went to the SAFE Foster Network, helping provide food, shelter and forever homes to animals in need.

“We are looking foward to hosting the event again, as we intend to make this an annual event for SAFE Foster Network,” said Gym Dog Activewear director Mikyla Joubert.

From downward dogs to determined strides, the event was a heart-warming reminder of what can happen when purpose meets paws.
