Ballito’s floral art club rings in the festive season with coastal Christmas tea

Club members enjoyed a festive demonstration on how to make wreaths.

The ladies of the Dolphin Coast Floral Art Club got into the festive spirit on Monday, celebrating with an ocean-themed Christmas tea.

Together with visiting guests, club members enjoyed delicious eats, friendly conversation and informative talks at All Saints Catholic Church in Ballito.

Naomi Williams, chairperson of the church’s parish pastoral council and managing director of Livingston Leandy law firm in Umhlanga, was the guest speaker for the day.

Rose Correia, Annaliza da Silva, Jaija Louw, Sibongile Cele, Yolande Bouffe and Dawn Dowell.

Williams drew parallels between the club’s members and the plants they love, encouraging the group to embrace their God-given uniqueness.

She spoke of how a strong tree, a beautiful flowering bush and fruit-bearing plants all have their place in the natural order, just as all personality types do.

She also reflected on her upbringing in a multi-faith household, with one Hindu and one Catholic parent, and how that shaped her views on religion.

“What it taught me is that faith, at its core, is about love, respect and shared values,” said Williams.
