Ballito painter Jeff Moss enjoys artistic freedom at the coast
His work can be recognised by its distinct pop art, doodling style.
A move from the concrete jungle to the coast helped Ballito artist Jeff Moss unleash his pop art creativity.
After a career in screen-printing in Johannesburg, Jeff relocated to Ballito three years ago and has since embraced the opportunity to focus on his art full-time. His work draws inspiration from pop art, doodling and meditative, spiritual influences, blending into vibrant, detailed scenes.

“I dream a lot and think about the world often. Eventually, those thoughts crystallise into ideas for my paintings,” said Jeff.
“I’ve been drawing and doodling all my life – from painting boutique lampshades at school to using Jik to ‘paint’ on black fabric. I have a never-ending need to express myself through art.”
Jeff now primarily works with acrylic on canvas, developing a distinctive style that has drawn attention from as far afield as North America.

“A Canadian teacher recently stumbled across my Instagram and liked my work. He commissioned a unique piece focused on education, which was a thrill to create,” he said.
Closer to home, Jeff is a regular presence at community fairs and markets. Commissions and original works can be viewed or ordered via his Instagram page @jeffmoss.sa.
