New art gallery to open near Ballito with Wendy Ferguson retrospective and wine tasting

Celebrating five decades of creativity.

Redwoods Gallery, a new art destination located on Redwoods Guest Farm near Ballito, will officially open its doors on Friday, 16 January, with an inaugural exhibition celebrating the work of long-time local artist Wendy Ferguson.

A former Sheffield resident, Wendy and her husband Stan recently moved to the guest farm. The opening exhibition honours her remarkable artistic journey spanning over five decades.

Wendy began painting in the early 1970s, and now in her 80s, she continues to create with the same dedication and expressive energy that has defined her career. Her passion for painting remains evident in every brushstroke.

While she works primarily in acrylics, Wendy has also explored watercolour, oils and pastels, resulting in a rich and diverse body of work. The exhibition offers visitors a chance to experience artworks from various phases of her career, reflecting both artistic growth and a consistent personal style.

Guests at the launch will be treated to a wine tasting hosted by Meridian Wine, featuring a curated selection from the Meerlust Workers Trust’s Compagniesdrift range.

The event will take place from 4pm to 7pm at Redwoods Guest Farm, offering a relaxed evening in a beautiful farm setting.
