6 August – First Thursdays at The Studios with Quiet Storm from 5.30-830pm. Sundowners on Eat street with DJ Dani Lee between 4-6pm.

7 August – Catch Robin Auld and Ant Cawthorn-Blazeby at The Market from 6-9pm or Steve Graham on Eat Street between 6.30-9.30pm.

8 August – Breakfast at The Studios with Seb Goldswain from 10.30am-12.30pm or lunch at The Market with Thobeka Mthethwa between 12.30-3.30pm. Jared Clay will take over at The Market from 6-9pm, while Chuck Bowden performs on Eat Street between 6.30-9.30pm.

9 August – Women’s Day netball fundraiser at Ashton Ballito from 9.30am. Junior and senior competitions available, R500 per team, register with Elaine at 078 777 8811. Funds raised to go to the poor. Vendors and sponsors welcome. Contact Lolly at 073 842 7402.

10 August – Disco Dawn Women’s Day Style Edit at Izwa Manzi Beachfront Villa in Sheffield from 10am. Shopping, gifts and inspiring talks. Tickets are R50 via Quicket.

– Enjoy your public holiday lunch with Jesse Pillay at The Market from 12.30-3.30pm, or with Triple Beat on Eat Street from 1-4pm.

13 August – Wake & Shake Coffee Rave with Veranda Panda at The Waffle Society in Ballito Village from 6.30-7.30am. R50pp from Utickets includes coffee.

16 August – Peschlsports Cane Challenger MTB race from Cornubia Mall towards Umdloti on EMBA single track. Distances include 20km, 40km, 60km and 80km with a 10km option for kids. Tickets from R100-R480 from Racepass.

20 August – Kruisvuur Youth Golf Day at Simbithi CC raising funds for Ballito Gesinskerk youth ministry. R4 000 per 4-ball, R1 000 to sponsor a hole. Contact Charlene at 082 853 2399.

21 August – Joshua na die Reén & Band. An intimate Barnyard-style concert at Ballito Gesinskerk from 6pm. Bring your own picnic baskets and drinks. R200 for adults and R100 for primary school children. Contact Leonie at 064 867 2995.

29 August – Francois Boyce (#HoezitSamelewing) will be the guest speaker at Ballito Gesinskerk’s ladies morning from 9.30am. Tickets R200pp include light refreshments. Contact Leonie at 064 867 2995.

– Wozza Rhythm & Roots Umhlali Prep Music Festival. Headlined by Veranda Panda, with Phillip Taylor Band, Jason Hartman, Grant Truter Music and the Umhlali Prep school choir and marimbas. Gates open 10am. Tickets are R250 for adults and R150 under 18s.

• Thursday and Sunday: Salt Rock Farmers’ Market at Slow Roads Collective. 7am-12pm on Thursday and 9am-1pm on Sunday.
• First Friday of every month: Market 032 night market, 6-9pm at La Montagne.
• First and last Saturday of the month: Car boot sale at Ballito Gesinskerk, 7-11am.
• Saturday, Sunday and selected public holidays: Ballito Farmers Market, 8am-3pm at Lower Oaklands Farm, Umhlali
