North Coast matrics joined over half a million of their peers from around the country who sat for their first paper last Monday.
Most Seatides Combined School matric pupils said they were both excited and nervous about their final exams but they were glad the waiting was over.
“Apparently the last year’s English paper was very hard so that makes me a bit nervous but all of this (exams) will be over in a month’s time so I am going to try and make the most of the experience,” said Miksha Maharaj.
Her best friend Micaela Narasmulu said she had had a cup of coffee in the morning because she had heard that caffeine helps you stay alert.
“There is no going back now, all one can do is to make the most of it and do our best,” she said.
