Sizani gets extreme makeover

"RED Day is built on the belief that people can and should come together to achieve extraordinary things to help others."

Sizani Combined School in Foxhill was recently invaded by an army of good Samaritans.

Keller Williams Ignite holds their RED Day every year as a day of service to the community. This year they identified Sizani as the recipient for their “Give Where They Live” theme dedicated to renewing, energizing and donating to local communities.

The volunteers spent the day repainting classrooms and roofs, restoring playgrounds, bathrooms, the kitchen and staffroom among other issues.

“Sizani Primary School has a total of 870 scholars, although the school is only built to house at least half this number,” said Keller Williams Ignite social media administrator Jané Olivier.

“RED Day is built on the belief that people can and should come together to achieve extraordinary things to help others.

“On Friday we had a fun day, fire fighters visited the school with a fire engine and had a safety lesson for the children, there were jumping castles, face painting, and we provided lunch (enough for all the children to have two servings!).”

Since the first RED Day in 2009, Keller Williams associates have given hundreds of thousands of hours of community service through activities ranging from food and blood drives to rebuilding homes and schools for community members in need.
